Send Email

Automatically sends a predefined email to the Candidate and records it against their Journey.

How It Works #

  1. The Candidate reaches the Send Email Step.
  2. The Step is triggered automatically.
  3. The system sends the configured email.
  4. The email is delivered to the Candidate's inbox.
  5. The Journey continues automatically.

How to Configure #

  1. Open your Agent in the Agent Editor.
  2. Go to Path Steps. Choose Send Email.Choose send email
  3. Click Configure on a Send Email Step.

  1. Enter the From Email Address (the sender's email).
  2. (Optional) Add CC and/or BCC recipients.
  3. Enter the Subject line.
  4. Write your Email Body.
  5. (Optional) Insert Merge Fields to personalise the content. Example: {{ firstname }}, {{ email }}.
  6. Click Save.

What the Candidate Sees #

Send email runner

The Candidate receives:

  • An email in their inbox
  • The subject line and message you configured
  • Personalised content if Merge Fields are used

This happens outside the Runner — the email is delivered as a standard email. The Candidate does not need to do anything in the Journey interface.

Tips #

  • Use a clear and relevant subject line
  • Keep the message concise and easy to read
  • Use Merge Fields to personalise the email (e.g., "Hi {{ firstname }}")
  • Ensure the Candidate's email field is collected before this Step (e.g., via Contact Details Confirmation)
  • Test the email by running through the Journey as a test Candidate

Notes #

  • The email is sent immediately when the Step is triggered
  • This Step runs automatically and does not require Candidate interaction
  • If email delivery fails, check the email configuration and recipient data
  • Emails are recorded against the Candidate's Journey and visible in the Candidate record
